About Us

As the Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) our goal is to promote future leaders in the education of children and youth with exceptionalities and promote programs designed to inform students of special education services. We are a student division of the Council for Exceptional (CEC) which is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the educational success of individuals with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. CEC advocates for appropriate government policies, sets professional standards, provides professional development, advocates for individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.
